Majesticks Golf Club Lead LIV Golf Indianapolis After Day One

Indianapolis, IN — The inaugural LIV Golf Indianapolis tournament kicked off on Thursday, August 20, 2026, under clear skies and warm temperatures, and the Majesticks Golf Club emerged as the early frontrunner. The team posted a combined 3‑under‑par 66, putting them atop the leaderboard heading into the second round.

Captained by former PGA Tour winner Jordan “J‑Force” Alvarez, Majesticks Golf Club benefitted from solid performances across its roster:

  • Jordan Alvarez – 66 (−3)
  • Emma Liu – 68 (−1)
  • Rashid Patel – 70 (E)
  • Sofia García – 71 (+1)

Close on their heels were the Pacific Pines and Iron Valley teams, both finishing at 2‑under‑par 67. Pacific Pines’ captain, Mike “The Hammer” Henderson, praised the course layout, noting, “The Indianapolis road course challenges every shot, and our guys rose to the occasion.” Iron Valley’s standout was rookie Liam O’Connor, who carded a 65, the day’s lowest individual round.

The tournament, played on the newly configured Indianapolis Motor Speedway road course, features a 54‑hole individual competition alongside a team format, with each team consisting of four players. The event runs through Sunday, August 23, with a cut after 36 holes for the individual prize.

Weather conditions remained favorable throughout the day, with temperatures hovering around 78°F (26°C) and light breezes that kept the greens true. Spectators enjoyed a festive atmosphere, highlighted by live music and a fan zone featuring interactive golf simulators.

Looking ahead, Majesticks Golf Club will aim to maintain its lead on Saturday, while rivals Pacific Pines and Iron Valley are expected to mount a strong challenge. The final round on Sunday promises a dramatic showdown, with the LIV Golf Indianapolis title and a $10 million purse on the line.
