Tonix Pharmaceuticals Holding Corp. (NASDAQ:TNXP) has signed a new managed Medicare payer agreement for its fibromyalgia treatment TONMYA® (cyclobenzaprine HCl sublingual tablets), extending the drug's potential coverage to around 9 million additional Medicare beneficiaries.

The agreement is scheduled to become effective on January 1, 2027.

According to the company, the latest agreement represents approximately 16% of the estimated 55 million Medicare-covered lives in the United States.

When combined with two previously announced commercial payer agreements through group purchasing organisations, which became effective during the second quarter of 2026, and Medicaid coverage available across most states for roughly 73 million people, pharmacy access to TONMYA is projected to expand significantly.

From January 1, 2027, Tonix expects the treatment to be available to around 145 million covered lives, representing approximately 46% of the 314 million insured lives in the U.S.

To support the broader rollout of TONMYA, Tonix plans to increase its commercial organisation by adding 50 sales representatives.

The expansion is expected to be completed by the middle of the third quarter of 2026, bringing the company's total sales force to approximately 150 representatives.

"Patient access to TONMYA is accelerating with the new Medicare agreement on top of two previously announced commercial coverage wins in the first two full quarters of launch," said Seth Lederman, M.D., President and Chief Executive Officer of Tonix Pharmaceuticals.

TONMYA received approval from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) on August 15, 2025, for the treatment of fibromyalgia in adults.

Tonix says the therapy is the first newly approved prescription treatment for fibromyalgia in more than 15 years and expects its patent portfolio to provide U.S. market exclusivity through 2034.

The company added that discussions with additional commercial insurers and Medicare payers remain ongoing as it seeks to further expand reimbursement coverage.
