Compagnie Léa Nature buys Spain’s Nagual Alimentación

French organic food group Compagnie Léa Nature has struck a deal to acquire Spanish tortillas and wraps maker Nagual Alimentación.

The transaction was executed through Compagnie Léa Nature's local subsidiary, Biocop Productos Biológicos, which purchased 100% of Nagual's share capital.

Compagnie Léa Nature did not disclose financial terms. However, it said in a statement the acquisition "strengthens its presence" in western Europe.

It also described the investment as a "strategic step" for the development of its business and Nagual Alimentación.

"This acquisition illustrates the desire and commitment of Léa Nature Group to continue its development in western Europe in natural and organic products along the health axis, as well as in out-of-home, with foodservice accounting for nearly 40% of the activity," the statement said.

Nagual Alimentación, founded in 2003, is based north of Barcelona. It produces around 20 million tortillas annually. The company also sells fajitas and white, yellow and blue corn wraps.

About 30% of Nagual Alimentación's output is "certified organic", Compagnie Léa Nature said. The products are also "naturally gluten-free" and suitable for vegan diets, it added. The Spanish business generated €3.5m in revenue last year.

Based in Périgny, Compagnie Léa Nature employs around 2,000 people. It operates 20 production sites in France.

The group reported revenue of €525m in 2025.

Last year, Compagnie Léa Nature invested €10m ($10.3m) to expand its facility in Damazan, in the Lot-et-Garonne region in south-west France. The investment added a third production line for organic fruit, jam, cooked vegetables and desserts.

The group also snapped up the bulk business unit of French organic food producer Biothentic in 2024.
